Rivers State Ministry of Environment Hosts First Consultation Meeting for Procurement of Clean Marine Environment Target 2030.

The Rivers State Ministry of Environment hosted the statutory stakeholders’ consultation meeting in collaboration with the MIRENSEN-MABED Initiative, bringing together key maritime/marine and environmental agencies to champion the cause for a clean and sustainable marine environment in Nigeria.

The meeting, held at the office of the Permanent Secretary, Sir Allwell Chenedum Okereku (JP), featured representatives from:

• NIMASA
• NPA
• NSC
• NIWA
• NDDC
• Reps of Coastal Communities
And other critical marine stakeholders.

The session marked a significant step in building multi-agency synergy in preparation for the upcoming 2025/2026 Marine Environment Stakeholders Summit, themed;
“Clean Marine Environment: Catalyst for Economic Growth and Sustainability.”
